Preparations for the shooting of a staged attack imitating the use of chemical weapons has begun in Syria, the Russian Defense Ministry’s Center for Reconciliation of the Opposing Sides in Syria says. The residents of the Syrian province of Idlib shared the information, Gazeta.ru reports.

According to local residents, journalists from several large Middle East TV channels gathered there. The film crew of the local branch of one of the largest American TV channels also arrived.

Provocation took place in Jisr ash-Shugur. Its plot is based on an alleged Syrian government employing toxic substances against civilians.

As Russkiy Mir reported earlier, Moscow earlier blamed activists of the Civil Defence (the White Helmets) for "the most odious" provocations in Syria's military conflict.

The Russian Foreign Ministry commented on the evacuation of the members of this NGO from Syria. The Ministry reminded that the White Helmets operated only in those regions that remained under the Islamist militants' control. They made explicit fakes used to blame the legal Syrian authorities for crimes.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs explained that members of the organization were shooting video clips and put them on the Internet.
