Russians named main events of 2018

The residents of Russia called the world football championship the main event of 2018, RIA "Novosti" reports. These are the results of a study conducted by the All-Russian Center for the Study of Public Opinion. 

Twelve percent of the survey participants chose the world football tournament, which was hosted by Russia for the first time in history. It is followed by events in Syria – nine percent of respondents voted for it. The opening of the Crimean Bridge closes the top-3 with six percent of votes. 

The pension reform made it to the top-5, it was named by five percent of Russian citizens. Events taking place in Ukraine and the incident in the Kerch Strait are considered important by three percent of the respondents.

The rating of the main events in Russia was led by changes in the pension legislation, according to the opinion of almost quarter of respondents. Thirteen percent voted for the World Football Championship, eight percent chose the Crimean Bridge.
