The presentation of the new Learn Russian in English School training manual took place in London office of Rossotrudnichestvo on January 21, the authority’s website informs. The manual was published as part of the Journey Around the Schools of the World series with assistance from Russkiy Mir Foundation. The new book will help get acquainted with the organization of studies in British schools.

The manual is composed of texts in English and Russian, which represent the dialogues between young Russians, who came to Great Britain, and their classmates.

The stories are written in a simple spoken language. According to the author Elena Geddis, most children use it. The content of educational material allows children to improve their commitment to study the language. The book also includes tasks and exercises, directed at the development of thinking and speaking.

“Our textbooks gave us motivation to create the Journey Around the Schools of the World series, so that Russian-speaking children living abroad had an opportunity to learn Russian culture comparing it to the culture of the country they live in. Russian language teachers from Germany, France, Hungary, Turkey, Bulgaria and other countries supported us with a great interest,” Elena Geddis noted.

The manual is published as a pilot edition. It will be distributed to supplementary language schools free.

The guests of presentation have also seen the new Slo-go-grad board game. It is aimed at the development of Russian language reading and speaking skills for older pre-school aged children. Learning Russian alphabet comes through matching sounds with visual perception of letters. This game has been tested for 5 years.
