Korean TV to broadcast program about Sakhalin

Korean National TV show Walking on the Planet will broadcast program dedicated to Sakhalin inhabitants on February 9, ASTV.ru reports. 

The KBS TV shooting crew has recently visited the island to make episode dedicated to winter tourism in Sakhalin. Korean TV comes to the island not for the first time. Last fall KBS made an episode for the Mama Land program that became very populare with Korean viewers.  

Sakhalin Tourism department noted that the South Korean touristic industry finds the island very interesting. This multi-ethnic island is easy to reach from South Korea, there are direct flights, and many Koreans live there.   

Reporters visited Kholmsk, Korsakov and Nevelsk. They saw museums and local points of interest, followed touristic paths. They were invited to participate in the Day of Snow celebration and winter fishing, bathed in ice-cold water to mark Epiphany, enjoyed snowmobiles and dog-sledding rides,  tried Russian cuisine.  

The separate topic was dedicated to the life and traditions of Sakhalin Koreans and New Year celebration.
