Moscow and St. Petersburg theaters are most popular in Russia

Moscow leads the list of cities with the most popular theaters. Bolshoi Theater, Lenkom, Moscow Art Theatre n. A. Chekhov, Vakhtangov Theater and some other are regularly fully book ed, Rossiyskaya Newspaper reports.

This year the theater popularity will grow, experts say. If last year 40 million people went to theaters, this year the number should grow to 43 million.

The second place is taken by Saint Petersburg. Mariinsky Theater and Tovstonogov Bolshoi Drama Theater, Alexandrinsky and Mikhailovsky Theaters are among most requested.

Ekaterinburg is on the third place. Among them are Opera and Ballet Theater, Sverdlov Music Comedy Theater, Philarmony and other cultural sport.

Tatarstan capital Kazan and another Siberian city Novosibirsk took fourth and fifth places consecutively.
