Russian Geographical Society opens photo exhibition in Havana

The works of the winners of the 4th The Most Beautiful Country Photo Contest of the Russian Geographical Society (RGO) were put up in the open air in one of the central squares of the Cuban capital. The opening of the exhibition, which was demonstrated in many countries of the world, was held as part of the Days of Russian Culture, Rossotrudnichestvo website reports.

Residents of Havana were able to see the photographs of the representatives of the indigenous peoples living in Russia, landscapes from various climatic zones, as well as birds and wild animals that live in our country. The authors were photographers who won the prestigious world competitions.

Russian geographical society and its activities are known in Cuba. During the opening of the exhibition, it was noted that experts made a great contribution to the creation of the first geographical atlas of Cuba after the victory of the Cuban revolution.

As part of the Days of Russian Culture, another photo exhibition entitled Russian Children of Havana opened in the Havana Library. It was prepared by Russian compatriots living in the Cuban capital and timed to the 500th anniversary of Havana. An exhibition of photographs dedicated to the writer Ivan Turgenev is also open.

Russkiy Mir reported that the Days of Russian Culture started in Havana on June 21. In addition to the listed exhibitions, the organizers brought there an exhibition dedicated to the Patriotic War of 1812.
