More than eighty objects of historical and cultural heritage located on the territory of the Kaliningrad region and in the regions of northeastern Poland are included in tourist cycling routes prepared as part of a joint project, which was included in the Poland – Russia cross-border cooperation program of 2014–2020, the Polish cultural center in Kaliningrad reports.

Infrastructure facilities will be built and a detailed scheme of educational routes in Russian, Polish and English will be released within the framework of the project, called CBCycle: Cross-Border Routes for the Promotion and Sustainable Use of Cultural Heritage.

The project budget is four and a half million euros. Part of these funds will be spent on the construction of a new bike path in the coastal zone of the Kaliningrad region with a length of almost 34 kilometers.

The organizers hope that the joint bicycle project will contribute to the development of infrastructure, the preservation of the cultural and historical heritage of the teo countries and their regions, as well as the promotion of environmentally friendly tourism and the strengthening of cross-border cooperation.
