The World Economic Forum opens on January 21 in Davos, Switzerland. Current economic challenges, climate issues and other pressing issues will be discussed by representatives of 117 countries. The delegation of Russian entrepreneurs, politicians and investors headed by the Minister of Economic Development Maxim Oreshkin is taking part in the forum, the Izvestia newspaper reports. Oreshkin is scheduled to meet with colleagues from France, Turkey, Switzerland and the European Commissioner for Trade.

The Russian House, which works in Davos as part of the World Economic Forum, will host more than 2,000 people. According to the deputy head of the Roscongress Foundation Armen Khachatryan, both Russians and foreigners are going to be among them. Armen Khachatryan noted that a year ago this figure reached 1,500 delegates from seventy countries.

This year, the Russian House for the first time will become a platform for joint events organized by the Roscongress and the World Economic Forum. The activities of the Russian House are aimed at promoting Russian initiatives among representatives of international business and official circles.
