Victory Lessons competition accepted applications from 3 continents

The Lessons of Victory competition of methodological developments allowed to collect a huge array of teaching materials from elementary to high school, the representative of the Russian Historical Society Andrey Petrov said. The applications for the competition came from three continents, the Russian Education website reports.

All regions of Russia, as well as most of the republics of the former Soviet Union, are represented in the list of participants in the contest. 

The jury members will study the submitted materials will during 1,5 months. Thirty-three people will get to the finals. They will take face-to-face tests in Moscow schools. The award ceremony will take place on April 2–3.

The competition started on the first day of the school year. Participants were expected to prepare innovative lessons on the 75th anniversary of the victory in the great Patriotic War in history, literature and other humanitarian disciplines. The contest is organized by the Russian Historical Society and the Ministry of Education.

One of the main goals of the competition is the creation and promotion of new methods and practices aimed at the patriotic education of the younger generation and the preservation of historical memory. The organizers also consider it important to identify and support gifted teachers.

The rules of the competition required participants to send the lesson plan in the written form. The jury will pay attention to the quality and scientific credibility of the proposed material, the clarity of presentation and the originality of the lesson.
