First two cases of coronavirus detected in Russia

The first two cases of coronavirus were recorded in Russia, RIA Novosti reports. According to Deputy Prime Minister Tatyana Golikova, the two people who got infected are Chinese. One of them is located in Zabaykalsky Krai, and the other one in the Tyumen region. Deputy Prime Minister is in charge of the new coronavirus prevention measures.

Anna Popova, who heads the Rospotrebnadzor, assured that there is no risk that the virus will spread throughout the country. Both patients have no fever and other clinical symptoms, their condition is stable.

The Russians who remain in Wuhan and Hubei are planned to be evacuated until February 4. In total, the number of compatriots may exceed six hundred people. All returnees will be quarantined for two weeks.

Golikova added that starting from February 1 air service between Russia and China is limited. Aeroflot will keep its flights to Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou and Hong Kong. All passengers will be able to get on a plane from a single terminal at Sheremetyevo. Four flights to China by four Chinese airlines will also remain on schedule.

In addition, the Russian authorities are going to temporarily suspend the issuance of work visas to Chinese citizens and close the border with Mongolia.

The number of victims of pneumonia caused by the new coronavirus exceeded two hundred and ten people. The number of cases almost reached ten thousand. Russia has become the twenty-first country where cases of infection have been recorded.
