Best readers of Russian classics chosen in Israel

The results of the Living Classics contest were summed up in Israel, the website of the World Coordinating Council of Russian compatriots organizations reports. Children living in different cities fought for the victory. Competitions were held in Tel Aviv, Haifa, Netanya, and other cities. Fourteen students entered the national finals.

The jury consisted of scientists, philologists, theater directors, teachers of the Russian language and other specialists. Participants and three winners of the competition were awarded with diplomas of the organizing committee of Living Classics, they were presented with books in Russian.

The first stage of the competition is held in schools, where everyone can read fragments from their favorite books. One of the main requirements is that the works must be prosaic, passages must be learned by heart. The winner will be awarded to the Artek children's camp.
