Aeroflot Airlines has suspended the sale of tickets for flights abroad, the Kommersant newspaper reports. In the reservation system, tickets from Moscow to Paris, New York, Rome, Madrid and other world capitals are now available from August 1. Earlier it was possible to purchase tickets for foreign flights with a departure date after April 30 on the Aeroflot website.

The airline explained that this is a technical solution that means neither the actual cancellation of flights, nor their possible resumption. It remains in force until the situation with COVID-19 clarifies and is designed to reduce the load on sales offices, which would have arisen in connection with the repeated re-booking of tickets.

At the end of March, the Russian government announced the cancellation of international flights, both regular and charter ones. Only those planes that are engaged in the export of Russian citizens to their homeland continue to fly.

According to the latest data, the number of infected with COVID-19 in Russia is approaching 28 thousand, more than 2,300 people have recovered, more than 230 have died.
