An exhibition timed to the 75th anniversary of victory in the Great Patriotic War was solemnly opened at the Russian Consulate General in Hamburg. The creator of the exposition is the front-line soldier Solomon Zilberberg, who heads the veteran organization under the Coordination Council of Organizations of Russian Compatriots in Hamburg, according to the Consulate General's Facebook page.
The exhibition is dedicated to the front and life paths of the participants in the war, home front workers and the Leningrad siege survivors who currently live in Hamburg. Documents, photographs from albums of veterans and their letters from the front are exhibited for the public. The exhibition reveals the fates of people who got burned by the war, and tells how the experience gained at the front affected their lives.
Consul General of Russia Andrei Sharashkin stated that the number of participants in the war was rapidly decreasing, and such events contribute to preserving the memory of the generation that defeated fascism. The ceremony was attended by veterans and representatives of compatriot organizations from Hamburg and Schleswig-Holstein.
