Young chess players from more than 20 countries to play with Moscow athletes

A series of international online chess tournaments, in which young athletes will play against Moscow chess players, opened with a meeting between the teams of the Russian capital and Argentinean San Luis. On October 3, the series will continue with a match between Moscow and Jordanian chess players, Rossotrudnichestvo reports on its Facebook page.

The action is held in honor of the 90th anniversary of the Moscow Chess Federation with the support of Rossotrudnichestvo and Moskomsport. Outside of Russia, tournaments are hosted by the Russian Centers for Science and Culture (RCSC). The games can be followed on the Moscow Chess Federation's YouTube channel - MskChess TV.

Earlier, the Sports Department and the Moscow Chess Federation organized Chess Days in Merano, Italy. The events were held with the support of local authorities and organizations.

The Days included lectures on the history of chess, meetings with renowned athletes, a match between chess players from Moscow and Merano. In early September, a tournament in honor of Moscow's birthday was held, in which 450 chess players from the Russian capital and Armenia met.
