Russian-language theaters performed at international festival in US

Professional theaters from 15 countries took part in the 2nd Voices 2020 International Theater Festival, organized by the Jersey City Theater Center (JCTC) online. Most of the performances were shown in Russian with English subtitles, according to the website of the Association of Workers of Russian Theaters Abroad.

The festival was supported by the Jersey City and New York State Administration and was organized by the Jersey City Theater Center. According to Olga Levina, JCTC Founding Director, a region where many ethnic groups are concentrated has been chosen for the festival.

Theaters from Russia, USA, Great Britain, South Africa, India, South Korea, CIS countries and other countries took part in the festival. In particular, Russia was represented at the festival by the Moscow Theater of Roman Viktyuk, which showed the Chernobyl play. Joint projects of theaters from different countries were presented - viewers could watch online readings with the participation of American actors.
