Christmas readings in Argentina dedicated to anniversary of Alexander Nevsky

Meetings with priests, historians and educators, round tables and lectures were included in the program of the South American regional stage of the 29th International Christmas Educational Readings, which this year is dedicated to the 800th anniversary of the Russian saint, military leader and diplomat Alexander Nevsky. The readings will last until November 29, according to the Russian Center for Science and Culture (RCSC) in Buenos Aires.

The regional stage of the readings was opened in the Argentine capital with the Divine Liturgy, the readings were opened by Metropolitan Leonidas of Argentine and South America. The ceremony was also attended by representatives of the Russian Embassy in Argentina, compatriot organizations and the Argentine public.

The conference program began on November 17 with the opening of a section for schoolchildren, in which the school director at the Russian Embassy in Argentina, Alexandra Loginova, spoke about the role of Alexander Nevsky in the history of Russia. Readings will continue on November 18, the audience will learn about the embodiment of the image of the prince and his activities in the famous film by Sergei Eisenstein, the screening of which was included in the conference program.

Within the framework of the readings, an exhibition of works by participants in the international children's creative competition "The Beauty of God's World" was opened, and young compatriots from Argentina, Brazil and Ecuador became its participants.
