The new tourist project will unite the Leningrad region and Finland, the Izvestia.78 newspaper writes. This year, it is planned to start creating a network of hiking ecological routes of various directions, both cultural and historical.

As noted in the administration of the Russian region, for the first time the European Union is joining the organization of the project. More than 400,000 euros were allocated for the implementation.

The hiking trail was named after Cape Kurenniemi. The new protected natural area will be located on the coast of the Gulf of Finland. As part of the project, trails for travelers will be put in order there, parking lots for vehicles will be built. In addition, recreation sites with tents and fireplaces are organized for tourists. Information boards will appear on the paths, telling about nature protection and ecology.

A visit center for the development of international ecotourism will be erected on the shores of the Gulf of Finland. It is planned that in the future this place will host conferences, seminars and other events with the participation of Russian and Finnish specialists.
