New season of Reading Aloud Championship opens in London

The next season of the Reading Aloud World Championship starts on January 16, the website of the Year of Literature reports. Participants of the qualifying round will compete in the online format.

According to the organizers, Russian-speaking residents of the British capital are expected to join the competition. They will be offered to read in Russian fragments from the works of Russian and foreign writers without preparation.

According to the founder of the tournament, Mikhail Faustov, London is of particular importance for this championship. He recalled that the first time the competition was held in the capital of Great Britain in 2018. Last year the London match was held online.

Mikhail Faustov expressed the hope that not only residents of London, but also Manchester, Liverpool, Birmingham, Glasgow and other British cities will fight for victory.
