Residents of Latvia, who are not allowed by the authorities to watch the programs of their favorite TV channels, were offered another way to overcome censorship,   Baltnews reports.

Broadcasting of 16 Russian-language TV channels was banned in Latvia. Their viewers were forced to go online. Since the number of bans is growing all the time, new Internet platforms are emerging, where there is free access to TV programs. And one of them was the Smotrim.ru platform, which was developed by the All-Russian State Television and Radio Broadcasting Company.

It can be used on both mobile and other devices. To get access, it is enough to register by phone number.

The Russian Union of Latvia (RUL) party notes that the number of platform users is growing day by day, and it has already exceeded one million. This took only four months. Most of all new users appear after the authorities of some country make another attempt to ban Russian TV channels.

One of the RUL co-chairs, Miroslav Mitrofanov, recalled that the union had already called on the country's residents to abandon cable television. The politician has no doubts that the authorities will "strangle" it anyway. The Internet remains the most preferred, he is sure.
