Readers of The Washington Post criticized the United States government, which urged Brazil to abandon the use of the Russian Sputnik V COVID-19 vaccine. Commentators called these actions shameful and noted their futility, TASS reports.

Earlier, it became known that the American Ministry of Health used diplomatic tools to counteract competing countries. In particular, it was reported that the United States tried to influence the Brazilian authorities in order to refuse the South American country from the Russian vaccine.

Readers of WP mentioned the success of the implementation of the Russian vaccine in different countries and the negative situation with the spread of coronavirus in the United States. The effectiveness of the Russian vaccine and the high level of Russian scientists were also noted.

A number of commentators accused Washington of Russophobia and urged not to prevent Russia from distributing Sputnik V throughout the planet, recalling that this is connected with saving human lives.

One of the users expressed confidence that Western countries are in no hurry to recognize the Russian vaccine for political reasons, otherwise the world could stop the pandemic by the end of last year with fewer casualties.
