Representatives of the leading parliamentary parties of African countries are taking part in the "Russia - Africa: Reviving Traditions" conference. It started on Wednesday, March 24. The large-scale forum is being held online, TASS reports.

Andrey Klimov, Deputy Secretary of the General Council of the United Russia party, which is the organizer of the conference, is unique in the entire history of relations between Russia and Africa. According to him, the geography of the conference covers 24 countries, which is almost half of the continent's states.

This forum can be called a preparatory stage for the next Russian-African summit, which is scheduled for next year.

One of the sections will be devoted to issues of peace, security and non-interference in the internal affairs of sovereign states, the second block of topics will be related to economic cooperation. The third will touch upon issues of humanitarian cooperation, including the fight against the pandemic and its consequences.
