Veteran of the Great Patriotic War Maria Koltakova at the age of 99 for the first time in her life made a training flight on a Su-34 aircraft simulator with a full immersion VR effect,  TASS reports.

Together with a resident of Voronezh flew Hero of Russia, acting pilot, Lieutenant Colonel Andrei Dyachenko, they performed several aerobatics, refueling in the air. In addition, they found "enemy" warships and destroyed them with air-to-ground missiles.

This achievement of Maria Koltakova was entered into the Russian Book of Records. For a woman who calls herself "steel grandmother", the record has already become the 14nth in a row. Maria Koltakova took part in the Battle of Kursk, in the battles for the liberation of Kharkov and Lvov, in the battles for the freedom of Poland and Czechoslovakia. During the war years, she had a shell shock twice, but despite this, Maria Koltakova carried more than 300 people from the battlefield.

The modern training complex Su-34 is the cockpit of a real aircraft. It is mounted in an interactive sphere, which makes it possible to create the effect of one hundred percent presence.
