The Moscow Compatriot House (MCH), the Union of Russian Societies in Sweden and the Swedish-Russian Friendship Society held an online lecture on the history and collection of the Tretyakov Gallery. The lecture was the third in a series about Russian art, according to the MCH website.

Viewers who joined the broadcast were able to learn a lot of new and interesting things about Russian artists and masterpieces, and the information came from the Tretyakov Gallery itself. The lecture was read by art critic, employee of the scientific and educational department of the Tretyakov Gallery, Tatyana Ilyina. The specialist's story was translated into Swedish.

The online lecture and other virtual tours of Russian art are aviaiable on the MCH YouTube channel. During the two hours that the lecture lasted, Tatyana Ilyina managed to tell her compatriots about how the Tretyakov Gallery was born, how the collection of the Tretyakov brothers was created, how the gallery survived the revolution and the Great Patriotic War.

The lecturer also dwelt in detail on the paintings of leading Russian artists, which are exhibited in the halls of the gallery. The participants of the lecture were able to ask questions to the art critic.
