International competition of Russian romance songs is taking place in Moscow

The international competition of Russian romance songs performers started the day before, on April 21, in the Russian capital.

The main task of the competition is to attract a wide range of performers to the performance of the Russian romance, as well as to popularize the work of Russian composers and poets. The creative project helps the search for folk talents, support of professional performers. In addition, the Romansiada is aimed at preserving and developing the traditions of Russian vocal and poetic art.

The winners will be named in four categories.

The first nomination, Romansiada Without Borders, unites soloists without special musical education, as well as those with primary musical education. Vocalists over 17 years old are allowed to participate.

The second nomination is called Masters of Romance. It is attended by professional performers over 28 years old.

In the third nomination Romansiada-ensemble creative teams uniting from 2 to 8 people will fight for the victory.

The last category, Overcoming, is intended for people with disabilities. They are offered to perform two works: a romance and a lyric song by Russian composers.
