"Gardens of memory" are planted all over the world

More than 20 million trees were planted by the participants of the Garden of Memory project in 2021, according to the website of the Moscow House of Compatriot. Events continue far beyond the borders of Russia.

On the eve of Victory Day, several "Gardens of Memory" appeared in Berlin at once. In the United States, Russian diplomats have planted lilacs. In China, trees planted by diplomats and public figures have become a symbol of memory and unity, as well as a sign of friendship between the two countries. Large-scale events were held, including in Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Belarus, Kyrgyzstan.

About 20,000 trees were planted on Victory Day. According to the organizers, the trees were planted in Morocco, Belgium, Hungary, Italy, Egypt, Cuba. In addition, residents of almost 20 Russian regions joined the action on the holiday. The largest scale of the event took place in Tatarstan, Orenburg region, Tyva. 

The All-Russian public movement Volunteers of Victory is the organizer of the international action. In the year of the 75th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War, 27 million trees were planted in the regions of Russia and many countries - according to the number of Soviet victims of the war. This year the action will run until June 22. The final event will take place at the Hero Fortress of Brest.
