EU has recognized Sputnik V vaccination certificates of San Marino

The European Commission has recognized vaccination certificates issued in San Marino, where Sputnik V was used, RIA Novosti reports. As the Russian Direct Investment Fund (RDIF) informed, now these certificates to be valid throughout the European Union and in Schengen area countries.

It is great, that the number of countries joining the EU's digital COVID certification system is growing, said European Commissioner Didier Reinde. According to him, currently European Commission is taking active measures to recognize certificates issued by other countries.

As Russkiy Mir informed before, The Russian Sputnik V vaccine has demonstrated very high efficiency during its use in San Marino, according to the Italian Institute of Spallanzani. The Roman National Institute of Infectious Diseases studied the results of the Sputnik V jab in San Marino. The data has confirmed the high efficiency of the vaccination campaign in the Republic of San Marino. Almost all the residents of the republic who were vaccinated (90%) received Sputnik V.
