Symphony Orchestra to perform in Athens

The concert of the Tchaikovsky Symphony Orchestra will take place in the capital of Greece, TASS reports. The renowned team led by Vladimir Fedoseev will perform for the first time abroad after the outbreak of the coronavirus pandemic.

Russian musicians will take the stage at the ancient Herodio Theater on Wednesday, September 8. Works by Russian and foreign composers will be presented to the Greek audience, including pieces Mikhail Glinka, Pyotr Tchaikovsky, Aram Khachaturian, Dmitry Shostakovich, Strauss, Zierer and Bernstein.

The young talented musician Stelios Kerasidis will perform together with the orchestra. The nine-year-old Greek pianist and composer will perform his own work - the Renaissance Waltz. The conductor's place will be taken by maestro Fedoseev.

The concert will be included in the program of the Cross Year of the History of Russia and Greece. It brings together nearly 150 events in both countries, including concerts, conferences and exhibitions, calls of Russian Navy ships to the ports of Greece and much more.
