The Cross Year of the Museums of Russia and Italy started on Thursday, September 30, TASS reports. The ceremony took place in Milan. The ministers of culture of both countries Olga Lyubimova and Dario Franceschini became its guests of honor.

According to Lyubimova, museums help to preserve eternal values in a rapidly changing world. She has no doubts that museums play an important role in the public life of Russia and Italy. The event was called a summit for a reason, Lyubimova added, as museum projects determine the policy in the cultural sphere.
