Russia's national literature presented at book exhibition in UAE

Russia is taking part in the International Book Fair, which opened in the United Arab Emirates. The national literature of the peoples of Russia is for the first time presented at the exhibition in Sharjah, the Russian Emirates reports.

Russia is represented at the exhibition by two stands, one of which houses books in the languages ​​of the peoples of the country.  The second stand, entitled the ''Books of Russia,'' presents books by  Russian publishing houses. Meetings with writers, translators, publishers, researchers of the Russian language and Russian literature are planned at both stands.

The literature of the peoples of Russia is represented at the exhibition by writers, poets, playwrights, translators from Karachay-Cherkessia, Chechnya, Tatarstan and other regions. The work of the Russian stands opened with a presentation of the program to support Russian national literatures. The program also included the presentation of a series of anthologies entitled "Contemporary Literature of the Peoples of Russia".
