Sputnik Russian Film Festival started on Thursday, November 18, TASS reports. It is being held in Warsaw for the 15th time.

In total, the program includes almost one 110 films divided into 13 categories. The program combines children's films and films for family audiences, short films and documentaries.

16 films are competing for the main award, including A Siege Diary by Andrey Zaitsev and Doctor Liza by Oksana Karas. Ten films are presented in the documentary competition.

The White Nights section is dedicated to the 200th anniversary of Fyodor Dostoevsky.

Unlike last year, the festival is being held in person. However, Russian guests could not come to the country to take part in the festival since Russian COVID-19 vaccines are not recognized in Poland. Many directors pre-recorded video messages for the guests of the festival.

The names of the winners will be announced on November 28. From December 1 to December 9, some of the competition films will be screened online.
