The Russian authorities have come up with a proposal to conclude an agreement on the international regulation of Internet governance, RIA Novosti reports.

According to Deputy Foreign Minister Oleg Syromolotov, Moscow considers it necessary to make the control over the Internet international. Syromolotov stressed that countries should have equal rights in this process. States should retain the sovereign right to regulate the national segment of the Internet.

These issues are discussed within the framework of the International Telecommunication Union, Oleg Syromolotov explained. He noted that representatives of Russia are actively involved in its work.
