Moscow handed sent a batch of the Sputnik Light vaccine to Hanoi, RIA Novosti reports. The handover ceremony took place on Wednesday, December 29.

The Vietnamese authorities thanked Moscow and reaffirmed their interest in strengthening cooperation with Russia.

The production of the Russian Sputnik V vaccine started in Vietnam in July. The drug was produced by the local company Vabiotech.

According to the Russian Direct Investment Fund, the technological details of the production are being trasferred to the Vietnamese company. According to Kirill Dmitriev, head of RDIF, this will facilitate access to the drug for residents of the country.
