Two Russian films will be screened at Rotterdam International Film Festival

"Ghostly White" drama by Russian director Maria Ignatenko is taking part in the main program of the Tiger Competition at the Rotterdam International Film Festival, which opens on January 26 for the 51st time. Another Russian film, ''Nearby'', which is the directorial debut of Tamara Dondurei, is included in the Bright Future program, the website of the Russia's Ministry of Culture reports.

Both films were shot with the support of the Ministry of Culture. The festival starts on January 26 and runs until February 6. Russian Minister of Culture Olga Lyubimova called the success of Russian films "a wonderful start to the year" for Russian cinema.

"Ghostly White" tells about the lives of people who found themselves under the Nazi occupation. "Nearby" is dedicated to the generation of 30-year-olds, their life choices. Tamara Dondurei noted that she sought to present Moscow as a separate character in the film.
