Russian tennis player Daniil Medvedev to play Australian Open Final

The Russian tennis player will play in the final of the Australian Open, the first tournament in a series of Grand Slam competitions, TASS reports. Daniil Medvedev defeated the Greek Stefanos Tsitsipas with a score of 7:6 in the semifinals. 

The final game is scheduled for January 30. Daniil Medvedev will play against Spanish tennis player Rafael Nadal. It is the second consecutive Grand Slam final for Medvedev. His rival will play in the final for the 29th time.

Medvedev is 25 years old, he is on the second place in the ranking of the Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP).

Serb Novak Djokovic is the reigning Australian Open champion. He was unable to play in Australia due to the coronavirus pandemic and restrictions against the spread of the disease.

 If Daniil Medvedev wins the Australian Open final, he will become the first racket of the world.
