Russians win gold in cross-country ski relay

Russian skiers have become Olympic champions in the cross-country ski relay on Saturday, February 12, RIA Novosti reports. It took them more than 53 minutes to cover the distance of 4x5 kilometers. The skiers ran the first two stages in the classical style, the second and third - in the free style.

Yulia Stupak, Natalya Nepryaeva, Tatyana Sorina and Veronika Stepanova won gold. The second place went to the German athletes. The top three was closed by the Swedish team.
 
Gold in the women's relay has become the third for the national team, moving it up two positions at once in the medal standings. Now the country is at the 7th place. In addition, Russian athletes have won four silver and six bronze medals.
