Russian freestyler wins bronze at Beijing Olympics

Russian freestyler Ilya Burov has won a bronze POlympic medal in ski acrobatics, scoring almost 115 points for the final jump. The Chinese athlete Qi Guangpu became the Olympic champion. The silver medal went to the Ukrainian athlete Alexander Abramenko. This award became the first Ukrainian medal at this Olympics.

Freestylers competed in two rounds. The first stage, in which 12 people competed, consisted of two attempts. The six athletes who scored the most points advanced to the second stage. 

The national team has the total of 24 awards. Russia is in ninth place in the Olympic medal standings.
