The Ministry of Science and Higher Education advised Russian universities to withdraw from the Erasmus + academic mobility program. Funds for its implementation are allocated by the Council of Europe, RIA Novosti reports.

The department recalled that the EU banned the provision of support measures both in the financial sector and to all other Russian state or state-controlled organizations through programs financed from the EU budget.

The Erasmus program has been operating for more than 30 years. Within its framework, the EU provides grants for education, training or professional experience. In 2014, it began to work in those countries that are not part of the European Union, including Russia.
