HSE becomes best Russian university in Shanghai ranking

Six Russian universities have been included in the top 100 in the Shanghai Global Ranking by Subject Areas (GRAS), RIA Novosti reports. The Higher School of Economics (HSE) is recognized as the best university in Russia, represented in ten disciplines.

In addition to HSE, Lomonosov Moscow State University, Tomsk State University, St. Petersburg State University, ITMO University and MISiS are on the list. Of these, four are leaders in subject areas.

The ranking was compiled by ShanghaiRanking Consultancy. Universities in it are evaluated in 54 subjects. In total, experts analyzed about 5,000 educational institutions in 96 countries, including more than 1,800 universities in the list.
