Russia donated monkeypox test kits to Congo, RIA Novosti reports. According to Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov, who is visiting the African country, Moscow also proposed developing cooperation with Congo, and, in particular, create a joint laboratory where scientists will research and prevent dangerous infectious diseases.

African Foreign Minister Jean-Claude Gakosso called Russia a friend of Congo. According to him, he studied Russian in Leningrad, and Congolese students were very well-received there. He and his colleagues received an excellent education.

The diplomat explained that the Russian language is now popular in the Congo, many people study it. ''You know that we are with you. We are your friends, real friends,''  the minister summed up.
