A court in Vilnius recognized the Moscow House as an illegal building and allowed for its demolition, TASS reports. The State Construction Inspectorate of Lithuania promised that they would appoint a contractor in the near future, and the demolition work would be carried out next year.

The cultural center was built a few years ago. The idea of its creation appeared in 2004, it was planned to become a center of cultural and business cooperation between Moscow and Vilnius. It was assumed that the building will have a conference room, a museum, rooms for exhibitions.

However, it was not possible to complete the construction - the authorities of the Lithuanian capital first referred to the violation of the technical regulations, and then the claims of a technical nature were transformed into a "threat to national security".

Last fall, the Supreme Administrative Court of Lithuania refused to satisfy the complaint of the House of Moscow in Vilnius against a ban on the part of the city administration to complete construction.
