The editor-in-chief of the RT France TV channel, Ksenia Fedorova, announced that the channel stops operation since its bank acoounts were frozen at the request of the French authorities. The channel's website says that Paris was able to get rid of the media outlet after five years of fighting it, TASS reports.

According to Ksenia Fedorova, the accounts were blocked at the request of the General Directorate of the Treasury under the Ministry of Economy and Finance of France, and this makes it impossible for the channel to continue working.

The actions of the French authorities left 123 French employees of the channel without work, including 77 journalists with press cards. RT France said in a statement that the closure of the channel did not provoke a reaction from other French media. The channel believes that similar actions will be carried out with other media.

Earlier, the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs noted that the decision of Paris will be followed by a response in relation to the French media in Russia.
