RT France's bank accounts have been blocked, RIA Novosti reports. According to Ksenia Fedorova, who heads the editorial office, the bank referred to the order of the authorities. Allegedly, this is due to the anti-Russian sanctions that Europe adopted at the end of last year.

Ksenia Fedorova recalled that RT France is not on the sanctions list. The editorial office operates in France legally, she clarified. Nevertheless, the bank's decision almost completely paralyzes the activities of the media. Probably, the French authorities are haunted by ''the very fact of our existence,'' Fedorova said.

Earlier, the head of the European Federation of Journalists, Ricardo Gutierrez, said that the EU ban on Russian media, including RT and Sputnik, had become a precedent that posed a serious threat to the freedom of press.
