Exhibition of works by winners of Stenin photo contest opened in the DR Congo

An exhibition of works by the winners of the Andrey Stenin International photojournalism competition opened in the Democratic Republic of the Congo as part of the African tour. The best photographs were placed on the campus of one of the universities in Kinshasa. The exhibition will last until March, 7, admission is free, the website of the Russian Foreign Ministry reports.

The photo exhibition came to Kinshasa from Pretoria, where it worked before. The exposition includes 40 single shots and a series of reports from Russia, China, India and other countries. Ambassador of Russia Aleksey Sentebov noted that this is not the first time that the exhibition of the best works of the Andrey Stenin Competition participants has been held in the Republic of the Congo.

The diplomat stressed that hosting the exhibition at the Free University of Kinshasa, which takes an active part in the development of educational cooperation with Russia, will allow young people from the Congo to see photographs that reflect the most pressing problems of our time.

The curator of the competition, Oksana Oleinik, greeted the visitors of the exhibition in a video message, noting that participants from African countries traditionally submit outstanding works to the international competition and have become winners and laureates more than once.
