About 200 universities from hundreds of Russian cities will join the youth and student tourism program, Interfax reports.

According to Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Chernyshenko, the program combines tourism, education and science. This year, foreign students can also join the program.

Last year, more than 5,000 people became participants in the program, the deputy head of government added.

The program is part of the "More than a trip" project. It allows young people to travel around the country, staying in student hostels at affordable prices. The program is designed for students, novice scientists, graduates and residents. The applicants need to fill out a form, select a region, university and wait for a response from the university.

In 2022, students from Uzbekistan visited Moscow. A cultural and educational program was organized for the guests. Then students from the host university went to Uzbekistan. This experience is planned to be extended to other countries of the CIS and the EAEU.

The most popular universities in terms of the number of applications from students were the universities of St. Petersburg, Kaliningrad, Irkutsk, Vladivostok, Kazan and Moscow.
