The celebration of Russian Language Day began in Berlin, TASS reports. An educational campaign was timed to coincide with the holiday, which took place on Saturday, June, 3. It was held by the representative office of Rossotrudnichestvo and the Russian Language Institute of the Dobrolyubov Nizhny Novgorod State Linguistic University. A dictation was written at the Russian House. This time they chose a piece from "Two Captains" by Veniamin Kaverin.

The dictation was written by about 50 people. There were many children among them who study Russian as a foreign language or a second mother tongue. They were joined by adults who wanted to check their language proficiency.

The organizers are sure that such events serve to strengthen ties between cultures and generations. They have tremendous unifying power. Today, whole families wrote the dictation - parents and children, grandmothers and grandchildren.
