Almost 19,000 compatriots moved to the Altai Territory within the program to facilitate the voluntary resettlement of compatriots from abroad. It was adopted in the region in 2010, according to the Russia and Compatriots website.

Program participants have the opportunity to obtain Russian citizenship under a simplified procedure. They are provided funding for renting, medical and other services.

Since the beginning of last year, about 80,000 people returned to Russia as part of the program. In total, more than 1,1 million people took advantage of the program. Most of them chose to live in the Central, Volga, Siberian and Ural federal districts.
