Russian Open Education Center began work in Indonesia

Residents of Indonesia will be able to learn Russian under the guidance of Russian teachers at the new Center for Open Education in Russian and Russian Language Teaching. The center started work on the island of Bali at the Sekola Tingi Business Runata Institute, the telegram channel of the Center for International Cooperation reports.

The project became part of an agreement signed last spring between the Indonesian university and Astafiev Krasnoyarsk Pedagogical University. The work of the center was launched by the Deputy Minister of Education of Russia Denis Gribov.

Russian Ambassador to Indonesia Lyudmila Vorobyova, Indonesian Ambassador to Russia Jose Antonio Morato Tavares, representatives of the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research and Technology of Indonesia took part in the opening ceremony of the center. The local university hosting the project is satisfied with cooperation with the Russian university in various fields.

Indonesians will be able to study Russian as a foreign language within the walls of the center under the guidance of Russian teachers. Also, the institution will provide methodological assistance to local teachers and present modern Russian developments in the educational field.

Indonesia is the 17th state in which Open Education Centers have started operating this year. Previously, they opened in Asia, Africa, Europe, the CIS.
