Russians in Peru celebrated Eid al-Adha for the first time

In Peru, for the first time, the celebration of Eid al-Adha was held, which brought together representatives of the Tatar people who came to South America from around the world. The holiday, which is widely celebrated by some peoples of Russia, was held by the Tatlam organization, which is part of the Coordinating Council of Organizations of Russian Compatriots of Peru, the website of the Moscow Compatriot House reports.

Bashkir and Finnish Tatars, as well as members of their families and friends, gathered at the same table. The guests were told about the meaning and features of Eid al-Adha, as well as other Muslim holidays and customs.

The main dish of the holiday was plov, which all the participants of the event could taste. 

Earlier, Russian compatriots in Peru held the Sabantuy holiday with the support of the Russian embassy and the authorities of the Peruvian capital. Within the framework of the fair, opened for the holiday, an exhibition of works of masters and folk music concerts were held, guests were treated to dishes of Tatar cuisine.
