Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov is leaving on a working trip to the DPRK on Wednesday, October, 18, TASS reports. As part of his visit to Pyongyang, the minister is scheduled to discuss issues of strengthening relations between the two countries in various fields, as well as the problems of the Korean Peninsula.

The head of Russian diplomacy accompanied Russian President Vladimir Putin on his visit to China, where Lavrov had negotiations with his Chinese counterpart Wang Yi.

Sergei Lavrov will inform partners from the DPRK about the results of the Beijing meetings. A visit by Vladimir Putin to this country may be agreed upon during his stay. The Kremlin previously noted that Kim Jong-un had invited the Russian leader to visit Pyongyang, but the details of the visit would be discussed through diplomatic channels.

According to the Russian Ambassador to Pyongyang Alexander Matsegora, both sides are working to restart all instruments for expanding trade and economic relations as quickly as possible.

North Korean leader Kim Jong-un visited Russia on a working visit a month ago. Russian President Vladimir Putin met with him at the Vostochny cosmodrome, which is located in the Amur region.

Kim Jong-un assured that the DPRK supports all decisions of Russian President Vladimir Putin. He has no doubt that the army and people of Russia will win and defeat the ''great evil'' that claims world hegemony.

Vladimir Putin stressed that relations between Russia and the DPRK had had a long history. According to him, both countries strive to ''strengthen the course of comradeship and good neighborliness'' and act ''in the name of peace, stability and prosperity in our common region.''
