Danil Pyshny won the World Chinese Language Competition among schoolchildren, RIA Novosti reports. In the entire history of the competition, he became the first Russian to take first place. The tournament took place the day before, October, 31, in the capital of China.

The winner studied Chinese at the Confucius Institute of the Far Eastern Federal University (FEFU). The rector of the Russian university, Boris Korobets, noted that the popularity of the Chinese language in Russia is increasing. According to him, this is also noticeable in the fact that the number of students at the Confucius Institute is increasing every year.

The ''Chinese is a Bridge'' competition is held in 130 countries. It aims to increase students' interest in learning Chinese language and culture. The regional stage of the competition is traditionally held by the Confucius Institute of the FEFU with the assistance of the Center for Language Education and Cooperation and the Consulate General of the People's Republic of China in Vladivostok.
